The Mesa Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration Committee is a group of Valley citizens who are dedicated to fulfilling the mission of preserving Dr. King's idea and philosophy of peace and equality.

We do this by engaging in constructive efforts to foster, promote and sustain social justice. We seek opportunities to serve the community by participating in service projects, providing scholarships, giving donations to local organizations, and partnering with other non-profit organizations in Mesa. The ce annual Martin Luther King, Jr. weekend events (see Annual Events page).

The theme Many Faces, One Community is relevant to the world we live in today.  It is important that we come together and reflect on the man who embodied action during a time of uncertainty. It is also important to celebrate the obstacles our city has overcome and the people who utilize the teachings of Dr. King to make a difference in our neighborhoods.

Position Statement regarding the Civil Discourse on Immigration

As followers of the tenets of Dr. King and advocates of social justice, the Mesa Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Celebration Committee urges our lawmakers to embrace the democratic ideal that laws are made to be just and provide the foundation for future reconciliation among diverse groups. Thus, we call for a civil discourse on immigration issues.
