  Changes in
2010

The Parade Route Has Changed  -- The parade route will start at University and Center and conclude at the Mesa Arts Center.

The Festival Location Has Changed -- The festival will take place at the beautifully designed Mesa Arts Center, located in the heart of downtown Mesa at Center and Main Streets. Mesa Arts Center reflects the city's rich tradition of family, community and pride.

Everyone attending the festival is asked to bring non-perishable food items for United Food Bank.

Building a Better Mesa by Building Community Spirit

As Dr. King noted in his speech, Strength of Love, we are the light that must drive out the darkness and the love that will drive out hate.

So we join the City of Mesa in the quest to build a better Mesa by continuing the efforts to build community spirit through the Annual Martin Luther King, Jr. Celebration events.

In 2010, you will experience some changes in the events that supports our goals to bring activities to the downtown area, assist those in need, and provide more scholarships throughout the year.

Thank You to
Our Sponsors

We have had many faithful sponsors in the past and some new sponsors. Thank you for every donation, rather monetary or in-kind. We appreciate your continuous support that makes it possible to bring a day of reflection, remembrance and rejoicing to the City of Mesa.

"Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that. Hate multiplies hate, violence multiplies violence, and toughness multiples toughness in a descending spiral of destruction...The chain reaction of evil -- hate begetting hate, wars producing more wars -- must be broken, or we shall be plunged into the dark abyss of annihilation."

Martin Luther King, Jr.
Strength to Love, 1963
